الْحَكَمُ
Al-Ḥakam The Judge
أَلَيْسَ اللَّهُ بِأَحْكَمِ الْحَاكِمِينَ
Is not Allah the most conclusive of all judges
Surah At-Tīn (95:8)
Niyet
Today, I will review my deeds from this past month and prepare corrections before Ramadan.
Tefekkür
Al-Ḥakam at cosmic scale judges between night and day, between seasons, between life and death. Every sunset is a verdict. Every spring is a ruling. The natural order is His courtroom, and every law of nature is His decree. In Shaʿbān, preparing for Ramadan means preparing for accountability, reviewing your deeds before the sacred month arrives, as a lawyer reviews a case before trial.
Bu ayet üzerine
The last verse of Surah At-Tīn, a rhetorical question that closes the surah about human dignity and judgement. Of course He is.
Dua
اللَّهُمَّ حَاسِبْنِي حِسَابًا يَسِيرًا
O Allah, call me to an easy account.
Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2876
ʿĀishah asked: what is an easy account? He said: that He looks at your record and overlooks. That is the easy account.
Hadis
ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb (may Allah be pleased with him) said: 'Take account of yourselves before you are taken to account, and weigh your deeds before they are weighed for you.'
