Watching Over Others
28 Shawwal 1447
الْمُهَيْمِنُ
Al-Muhaymin — The Protector
Mothers shall suckle their children for two whole years; (that is) for those who wish to complete the suckling. The duty of feeding and clothing nursing mothers in a seemly manner is upon the father of the child. No-one should be charged beyond his capacity. A mother should not be made to suffer because of her child, nor should he to whom the child is born (be made to suffer) because of his child. And on the (father's) heir is incumbent the like of that (which was incumbent on the father). If they desire to wean the child by mutual consent and (after) consultation, it is no sin for them; and if ye wish to give your children out to nurse, it is no sin for you, provide that ye pay what is due from you in kindness. Observe your duty to Allah, and know that Allah is Seer of what ye do
Surah Al-Baqarah (2:233)
ارادہ
Today, I will check on someone I care about — not because they asked, but because they shouldn't have to.
تدبر
Al-Muhaymin is The Guardian, The Watchful Protector — the One whose awareness misses nothing. In relationships, this Name teaches vigilant care. The parent who stays awake because the child is restless. The friend who checks in without being asked. The teacher who notices the student falling behind. Guardianship is not control; it is attentive love that anticipates need before it is expressed.
آیت پر تدبر
Two full years of devoted, attentive, selfless care — prescribed as a right of the child. This is what guardianship looks like in practice.
دعا
اللَّهُمَّ احْفَظْنِي مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيَّ وَمِنْ خَلْفِي وَعَنْ يَمِينِي وَعَنْ شِمَالِي وَمِنْ فَوْقِي
O Allah, protect me from before me and from behind me, from my right and from my left, and from above me.
Sunan Abī Dāwūd 5074, graded ṣaḥīḥ by Al-Albānī
Protection from every direction — the du'a of someone who knows they cannot guard themselves. We ask Allah's guardianship so we can extend guardianship to others.
حدیث
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'The believers in their mutual kindness, compassion, and sympathy are like one body. When one limb aches, the whole body reacts with sleeplessness and fever.'
