Al-Qahhār — The Subduer

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا كُونُوا قَوَّامِينَ بِالْقِسْطِ شُهَدَاءَ لِلَّهِ وَلَوْ عَلَى أَنفُسِكُمْ

O ye who believe! Be ye staunch in justice, witnesses for Allah, even though it be against yourselves or (your) parents or (your) kindred, whether (the case be of) a rich man or a poor man, for Allah is nearer unto both (than ye are). So follow not passion lest ye lapse (from truth) and if ye lapse or fall away, then lo! Allah is ever Informed of what ye do

Surah An-Nisāʾ (4:135)

ارادہ

Today, if I witness something unjust — even something small — I will speak up.

تدبر

Al-Qahhār is The Subduer, The Dominant — the One who overcomes all opposition. In the relational lens, this Name asks: do you stand up when you see wrong? Not with arrogance, but with the quiet, unshakeable conviction that injustice must be resisted. The believer does not stand by while someone is wronged. Standing against injustice — even when it costs you — is not aggression. It is a reflection of Al-Qahhār's intolerance of oppression.

آیت پر تدبر

Even against yourselves — the highest bar of justice. You cannot claim to stand for truth if you exempt yourself from it.

دعا

Note the order: wronging others comes first. Before we seek protection from being oppressed, we seek protection from becoming the oppressor.

حدیث

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Help your brother, whether he is an oppressor or is oppressed.' A man asked: 'O Messenger of Allah, I help him when he is oppressed, but how do I help him when he is the oppressor?' He said: 'By preventing him from oppressing — that is your help to him.'
