Strength to Be Grateful
13 Dhul Hijjah 1447
الْقَوِيُّ
Al-Qawiyy — The Most Strong
إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الرَّزَّاقُ ذُو الْقُوَّةِ الْمَتِينُ
Lo! Allah! He it is that giveth livelihood, the Lord of unbreakable might
Surah Adh-Dhāriyāt (51:58)
ارادہ
Today, I will say alhamdulillah for one thing that is difficult — not because the difficulty is good, but because I am still standing.
تدبر
Al-Qawiyy is The Strong — and gratitude itself requires strength. It is easy to complain, easy to focus on what is missing, easy to compare and find yourself lacking. Gratitude swims against that current. It takes strength to say alhamdulillah when your heart is heavy, when the test is long, when others seem to have more. That strength is borrowed from Al-Qawiyy — you do not generate it yourself.
آیت پر تدبر
Provider and Strong in the same verse — because provision requires power. He is not a weak provider who might run out. He is Dhul-Quwwah — the owner of strength itself.
دعا
اللَّهُمَّ أَعِنِّي عَلَى ذِكْرِكَ وَشُكْرِكَ وَحُسْنِ عِبَادَتِكَ
O Allah, help me to remember You, to be grateful to You, and to worship You beautifully.
Sunan Abī Dāwūd 1522, graded ṣaḥīḥ by Al-Albānī
The Prophet (peace be upon him) taught Mu'ādh to say this after every prayer. Three requests: remembrance, gratitude, beautiful worship. And note — he asks for HELP with gratitude, because even the Prophet (peace be upon him) knew it requires divine assistance.
حدیث
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'The strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than the weak believer, and in both there is good.'
