Al-Bāsiṭ — The Expander

رَبِّ اشْرَحْ لِي صَدْرِي

(Moses) said: My Lord! relieve my mind

ارادہ

Today, I will take three deep breaths before reacting to anything that feels tight.

تدبر

Al-Bāsiṭ is The Expander — the One who opens the chest, who widens provision, who gives space where there was none. After every contraction comes expansion. The Arabic root ba-sa-ṭa carries the sense of stretching out a carpet, laying down welcome, making room. Today, Al-Bāsiṭ is making room for something in your life.

آیت پر تدبر

Musa, peace be upon him, asked for expansion before he asked for anything else. Before eloquence, before a helper, before success — he asked for an open heart. Everything else follows from spaciousness.

دعا

The du’a of a prophet about to face the most powerful ruler on earth. He did not ask for an army. He asked for inner spaciousness.

حدیث

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Wonderful is the affair of the believer. If something good happens, he is grateful and that is good for him. If something bad happens, he is patient and that is good for him.”
