Al-Jalīl — The Majestic

فَتَبَارَكَ اللَّهُ أَحْسَنُ الْخَالِقِينَ

Then fashioned We the drop a clot, then fashioned We the clot a little lump, then fashioned We the little lump bones, then clothed the bones with flesh, and then produced it as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators

Surah Al-Muʾminūn (23:14)

ارادہ

Today, I will step outside and witness something majestic in nature — and let it recalibrate my sense of who I am preparing to worship.

تدبر

Al-Jalīl at cosmic scale: the majesty of a thunderstorm, the grandeur of an aurora, the awe of an eclipse — nature displays jalāl regularly, and these displays remind us that we live inside something grand. In Shaʿbān, this grandeur reframes your preparation: you are not just adjusting habits. You are preparing to enter the most majestic month of the year, to worship the most majestic Being in existence.

Aḥsanu al-khāliqīn — the best of creators. Every maker in history — every artist, architect, engineer — is learning from His designs.

دعا

Persist in calling upon this Name — the Prophet (peace be upon him)'s instruction. Majesty and honour together, always.

حدیث

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Be persistent in calling upon: Yā Dhal-Jalāli wal-Ikrām.'
