الشَّهِيدُ
Ash-Shahīd — The Witness
إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيدًا
And unto each We have appointed heirs of that which parents and near kindred leave; and as for those with whom your right hands have made a covenant, give them their due. Lo! Allah is ever Witness over all things
Surah An-Nisāʾ (4:33)
ارادہ
Today is Arafah — the greatest day of the year. I will fast, I will pray, I will make du'a as if my life depends on it. Because it does.
تدبر
Ash-Shahīd on the Day of Arafah — the greatest witness of the year. On this day, two million pilgrims stand on the plain of Arafah, weeping, praying, asking. And Ash-Shahīd witnesses every tear, every du'a, every broken heart. But He witnesses you too — wherever you are, fasting this day if you are not on Ḥajj, praying with the ummah. Every du'a on Arafah is witnessed by the only Witness who matters.
آیت پر تدبر
Over all things — including your du'a on this day, wherever you make it.
دعا
لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
There is no deity except Allah alone, without partner. His is the dominion, His is the praise, and He is over all things capable.
Sunan at-Tirmidhī 3585, graded ḥasan
The best du'a is the du'a on the Day of Arafah, and the best thing said by the Prophet (peace be upon him) and the prophets before him is this.
حدیث
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Fasting on the Day of Arafah expiates the sins of the previous year and the coming year.'
