الْمُمِيتُ

Al-Mumīt — The Bringer of Death

كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَائِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ ۖ ثُمَّ إِلَيْنَا تُرْجَعُونَ

Every soul will taste of death. Then unto Us ye will be returned

Surah Al-ʿAnkabūt (29:57)

ارادہ

Today, I will live as if this could be my last day — because one day, it will be. And that is not fear. That is clarity.

تدبر

Al-Mumīt: the journey ends as it must — with a reminder of mortality. Not to sadden you but to sharpen you. After 346 days of walking with the Names, the sharpest truth remains: you will die. This book will be put down. This year will end. And one day, your story will end. But Al-Mumīt does not end stories — He transitions them. Death is not a period. It is a doorway. And everything you learned about the 99 Names walks through that doorway with you.

Then to Us — thumma ilaynā. Death is not the end. It is the return.

A good ending — ḥusn al-khātimah. The ultimate du'a near the close of any journey.

حدیث

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Remember often the destroyer of pleasures — meaning death.'
