الْقَيُّومُ
Al-Qayyūm — The Self-Sustaining
اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ ۚ لَا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ ۚ
Allah! There is no God save Him, the Alive, the Eternal. Neither slumber nor sleep overtaketh Him. Unto Him belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. Who is he that intercedeth with Him save by His leave? He knoweth that which is in front of them and that which is behind them, while they encompass nothing of His knowledge save what He will. His throne includeth the heavens and the earth, and He is never weary of preserving them. He is the Sublime, the Tremendous
Surah Al-Baqarah (2:255) — Āyat al-Kursī
ارادہ
Today, I will notice how Al-Qayyūm is sustaining me — energy I did not earn, breath I did not create, life I did not build.
تدبر
Al-Qayyūm — The Self-Subsisting, The Sustainer of all existence. He sustained you through every day of this journey. Every morning when you opened this book, He sustained the hand that held it. Every night when you whispered the du'a, He sustained the breath that carried it. Al-Qayyūm is working inside you at this very moment, keeping your heart beating, your lungs breathing, your mind reading — all without your instruction or your awareness. When this book ends, His sustaining does not.

The greatest verse in the Quran. He does not sleep — meaning His sustaining never pauses. While you slept, He sustained your heartbeat. While you forgot, He remembered. While you were weak, He held you up.
دعا
اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَنتَ قَيِّمُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَنْ فِيهِنَّ
O Allah, to You belongs all praise. You are the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and all that is in them.
Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 1120, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 769
The opening of the Prophet (peace be upon him)'s night prayer — acknowledging that the Sustainer of everything is the One he is about to address.
حدیث
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'There is no one who, when afflicted with anxiety or grief, says: O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your maidservant. My forelock is in Your Hand, Your judgment over me is just, Your decree concerning me is fair. I ask You by every Name belonging to You... — except that Allah will remove his anxiety and replace it with relief.'
— Musnad Aḥmad 3712 (graded ṣaḥīḥ)
