الْجَبَّارُ

Al-Jabbār — The Compeller

وَإِذَا مَرِضْتُ فَهُوَ يَشْفِينِ

And when I sicken, then He healeth me

Surah Ash-Shu‘arāʼ (26:80)

ارادہ

Today, I will name one thing in me that is broken — and ask Al-Jabbār to mend it.

تدبر

Al-Jabbār is The Compeller — but not in the way tyrants compel. His jabr includes mending what is broken. In Arabic, al-jabr means to set a bone, to repair a fracture. He is the One who compels broken things back together. Whatever is fractured in you right now — He is the One who mends it.

آیت پر تدبر

Ibrahim, peace be upon him, attributed the illness to himself but the cure to Allah. A model of adab with the Divine: we own our condition, and He owns the healing.

دعا

Said between the two prostrations in prayer. Every rak‘ah carries a moment of asking to be mended.

حدیث

The Prophet (peace be upon him) used to say between the two prostrations: 'O Allah, forgive me, have mercy on me, mend me, guide me, and provide for me.'
