الْعَدْلُ

Al-‘Adl — The Just

وَالسَّمَاءَ رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ الْمِيزَانَ

And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure

Today, I will restore one imbalance in my life — something I have been giving too much or too little attention to.

تأمّل

Al-ʿAdl at cosmic scale maintains the balance of every system: the carbon cycle, the food chain, the ratio of gases in the atmosphere. Disturb one element and the whole system compensates — or collapses. Shaʿbān's preparation includes restoring balance in your own life: balancing worship with work, solitude with community, hope with fear. Ramadan needs a balanced heart to receive its full gift.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) taught Abū Bakr this for the prayer — beginning with admitting your own injustice before asking for mercy.
