Loved Into Ramadan
١٠ ربيع الأول ١٤٤٨
الْوَدُودُ
Al-Wadūd — The Most Loving
وَهُوَ الْغَفُورُ الْوَدُودُ
And He is the Forgiving, the Loving
Surah Al-Burūj (85:14)
النية
Today, I will approach Ramadan preparation not as duty but as desire — because Al-Wadūd is drawing me with love.
تأمّل
Al-Wadūd at cosmic scale: love is woven into creation. The mother elephant protects her calf. The father penguin starves to warm his egg. The tree drops its leaves to survive winter and love the spring. In Shaʿbān, Al-Wadūd is loving you toward Ramadan — every desire you feel to prepare, every pull toward prayer, every discomfort with your sins is His love drawing you closer. You are not dragging yourself to Ramadan. You are being drawn.
في هذه الآية
Ghafūr and Wadūd — He forgives because He loves. The forgiveness of Shaʿbān is an act of love from Al-Wadūd, preparing you for the love of Ramadan.
O Allah, I ask You for Your love, the love of those who love You, and the love of deeds that bring me closer to Your love.
Sunan at-Tirmidhī 3235, graded ḥasan
Three layers of love — the ultimate preparation for Ramadan is not discipline but desire. Want it.
حديث
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'When Allah loves a servant, He calls Jibrīl and says: I love so-and-so, so love him. Then Jibrīl calls out to the inhabitants of the heavens: Allah loves so-and-so, so love him. And then acceptance is placed in the earth for him.'
