New Beginnings in Ramadan
١٩ ربيع الأول ١٤٤٨
الْمُبْدِئُ
Al-Mubdiʼ — The Originator
إِنَّهُ هُوَ يُبْدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ
Lo! He it is Who produceth, then reproduceth
Surah Al-Burūj (85:13)
النية
Today, I will be open to something new — a new habit, a new du'a, a new understanding that this Ramadan originates in me.
تأمّل
Al-Mubdiʾ in Ramadan originates something new in you every year. You are not the same person who entered Ramadan last year. This Ramadan will create something in you that did not exist before — a new habit, a new understanding, a new level of closeness to Allah. Al-Mubdiʾ is originating your next chapter during these thirty days.
في هذه الآية
He originates — something brand new — and He repeats — Ramadan returns each year, but you are never the same.
دعاء
اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ خَيْرَ عُمُرِي آخِرَهُ وَخَيْرَ عَمَلِي خَوَاتِمَهُ
O Allah, make the best of my life its end, and the best of my deeds their conclusion.
Narrated by Al-Ḥākim; graded ḥasan
Every Ramadan could be your last. Ask for the best ending.
حديث
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Ramadan has come to you — a blessed month in which Allah has made fasting obligatory upon you.'
