Dominant Over All Obstacles
٢ ربيع الثاني ١٤٤٨
الْمُقْتَدِرُ
Al-Muqtadir — The Powerful
إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَنَهَرٍ * فِي مَقْعَدِ صِدْقٍ عِندَ مَلِيكٍ مُّقْتَدِرٍ
Lo! the righteous will dwell among gardens and rivers, Firmly established in the favour of a Mighty King
Surah Al-Qamar (54:54-55)
النية
Today, I will find spiritual endurance while honouring my body's limits and pray longer than yesterday — trusting Al-Muqtadir to sustain me, and to grant me wisdom to rest when rest is what I need.
تأمّل
Al-Muqtadir as Ramadan deepens: every obstacle to worship is dominated by His power. The tiredness that should prevent you from praying is overcome. The hunger that should cloud your mind is cleared. The routine that should dull your heart is sharpened. Al-Muqtadir is overriding the natural limitations of your body so that your spirit can soar. This is the Ramadan miracle: you accomplish in this month what you cannot accomplish in any other.
في هذه الآية
Near Him — ʿinda Malīkin Muqtadir. The ultimate destination: nearness to the All-Powerful. Ramadan is the fastest route.
دعاء
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْجَنَّةَ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ النَّارِ
O Allah, I ask You for Paradise and I seek refuge in You from the Fire.
Sunan Abī Dāwūd 792, graded ṣaḥīḥ by Al-Albānī
The simplest, most direct request. In the last half of Ramadan, strip your du'a to its essence.
حديث
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Allah will fold up the heavens on the Day of Resurrection, then take them in His Right Hand and say: I am the King. Where are the tyrants? Where are the arrogant?'
