What Ramadan Delays

٤ ربيع الثاني ١٤٤٨

الْمُؤَخَّرُ

Al-MuʼakhkhirThe Delayer

وَلَوْ يُؤَاخِذُ اللَّهُ النَّاسَ بِمَا كَسَبُوا مَا تَرَكَ عَلَى ظَهْرِهَا مِن دَابَّةٍ

If Allah took mankind to task by that which they deserve, He would not leave a living creature on the surface of the earth; but He reprieveth them unto an appointed term, and when their term cometh - then verily (they will know that) Allah is ever Seer of His slaves

Surah Fāṭir (35:45)

النية

Today, I will accept the open door — turning toward Allah for one thing I have been carrying, trusting His mercy more than I trust my own narrative of unworthiness.

تأمّل

Al-Muʾakhkhir in Ramadan: when Allah delays consequences and amplifies mercy in this month, He is not setting a timer — He is opening a door. The scholars describe Ramadan as a season of expanded mercy, where At-Tawwāb's eagerness to forgive meets your easiest opportunity to return. Al-Muʾakhkhir does not hold a sword above you; He holds the door open and waits with kindness for you to walk through. The delay is not a suspended sentence — it is an invitation.

في هذه الآية

He delays — and Ramadan is the greatest delay of all. Use it.

دعاء

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ

I seek forgiveness from Allah, there is no deity but Him, the Ever-Living, the Self-Sustaining, and I repent to Him.

Sunan Abī Dāwūd 1517, graded ṣaḥīḥ by Al-Albānī

The comprehensive istighfār — in the last ten nights, say it with presence and sincerity — not from fear, but from love. Al-Tawwāb is already turning toward you.

حديث

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Allah extends His hand at night so the sinner of the day may repent, and extends His hand by day so the sinner of the night may repent.'

Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2759
