Purity in Practice

٧ جمادى الأولى ١٤٤٨

الْقُدُّوسُ

Al-QuddūsThe Most Holy

يُسَبِّحُ لِلَّهِ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَكِيمِ

All that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth glorifieth Allah, the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One, the Mighty, the Wise

Surah Al-Jumu'ah (62:1)

النية

Today, I will bring holiness into one mundane act — cooking, commuting, working — and make it sacred.

تأمّل

Al-Quddūs integrated: holiness is not reserved for the masjid. It is in how you conduct business, how you speak to your spouse at midnight, how you treat the cashier at the shop. Integration means carrying the purity of worship into the impurity of daily life — and transforming the daily into something sacred. Every honest transaction is an act of taqdīs. Every truthful word is worship.

في هذه الآية

Everything glorifies — not just in the mosque, but in the heavens and the earth. Everywhere is sacred ground.

دعاء

سُبُّوحٌ قُدُّوسٌ رَبُّ الْمَلَائِكَةِ وَالرُّوحِ

Most Glorious, Most Holy, Lord of the angels and the Spirit.

Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 487

Said in rukūʿ and sujūd — bringing your voice into the cosmic chorus of glorification.

حديث

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Purity is half of faith.'

Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 223
