الْمَجِيدُ
Al-Majīd — The Most Glorious
ذُو الْعَرْشِ الْمَجِيدُ * فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ
Lord of the Throne of Glory, Doer of what He will
Surah Al-Burūj (85:15-16)
النية
Today, I will fill these blessed days with the takbīr — saying Allāhu Akbar with conviction and gratitude.
تأمّل
Al-Majīd in the first ten days — the most glorious days of the year. Glory upon glory: the days most beloved to Allah, the day of Arafah when more people are freed from the Fire than any other, and Eid al-Aḍḥā — the feast of sacrifice and gratitude. Al-Majīd made these days majīd — glorious — and you are alive to witness them.
في هذه الآية
Whatever He intends — faʿʿālun limā yurīd. These ten days are what He intended. And what He intends, He accomplishes.
دعاء
اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ وَلِلَّهِ الْحَمْدُ
Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest. There is no deity except Allah. Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, and to Allah belongs all praise.
Takbīr of Dhul Ḥijjah
The takbīr fills these ten days — in the streets, after prayers, in homes. The sound of glorification is the soundtrack of Dhul Ḥijjah.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'There are no days greater in the sight of Allah in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Him than these ten days.'
