الْمُحْيِي
Al-Muḥyī — The Giver of Life
وَأَنَّهُ هُوَ أَمَاتَ وَأَحْيَا
And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life
Surah An-Najm (53:44)
النية
Today, I will take three conscious breaths and thank Al-Muḥyī for each one. Life is the first gift. Everything else is built on it.
تأمّل
Al-Muḥyī: you are alive. After 345 days, the simplest blessing is still the most profound: you are alive. Al-Muḥyī gave you life, sustained it through 345 reflections, and is giving you breath to read this page. The gratitude for life does not diminish with familiarity — it deepens.

Gives life — aḥyā. Present tense. He is giving you life right now.
دعاء
يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّومُ بِرَحْمَتِكَ أَسْتَغِيثُ
O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, by Your mercy I seek relief.
Sunan at-Tirmidhī 3524, graded ḥasan
The Ever-Living — because your life is sustained by His life.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Take advantage of your life before your death.'
