The Governor of All Affairs

٢٩ رمضان ١٤٤٧

الْوَالِي

Al-WālīThe Governor

أَلَا لَهُ الْخَلْقُ وَالْأَمْرُ ۗ

Lo! your Lord is Allah Who created the heavens and the earth in six Days, then mounted He the Throne. He covereth the night with the day, which is in haste to follow it, and hath made the sun and the moon and the stars subservient by His command. His verily is all creation and commandment. Blessed be Allah, the Lord of the Worlds

Surah Al-A‘rāf (7:54)

النية

Today, I will hand one unresolved situation to the Governor of all affairs and stop trying to manage it myself.

تأمّل

Al-Wālī is The Governor, The Patron — the One who manages all affairs of creation. Not a distant ruler issuing decrees, but an active manager intimately involved in the details. The orbit of the earth, the growth of your child, the resolution of your conflict — all governed by Al-Wālī. Nothing in your life is unmanaged.

في هذه الآية

Creation and command. He made everything, and He runs everything. The architect is also the operator.

دعاء

اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَنْتَ قَيَّامُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَنْ فِيهِنَّ

O Allah, to You belongs all praise. You are the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and all that is in them.

Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 1120

The night prayer (tahajjud) du’a of the Prophet (peace be upon him). He began his most intimate worship by acknowledging Al-Wālī’s governance.

حديث

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Allah descends every night to the lowest heaven and says: "Who is calling upon Me that I may answer him? Who is asking of Me that I may give him? Who is seeking My forgiveness that I may forgive him?"'

Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 1145, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 758
