الْبَدِيعُ

Al-Badī‘ — The Incomparable

بَدِيعُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۖ وَإِذَا قَضَى أَمْرًا فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ لَهُ كُن فَيَكُونُ

The Originator of the heavens and the earth! When He decreeth a thing, He saith unto it only: Be! and it is

Surah Al-Baqarah (2:117)

Today, I will look at something ordinary with fresh eyes, seeing the genius of its Creator.

تأمّل

Al-Badīʿ is The Originator — the One who creates without precedent, without template, without imitation. He invented the very concept of creation. When you seek knowledge, remember that the ultimate teacher is The One who originated everything there is to know. No scholar, no matter how brilliant, creates knowledge — they discover what He already placed. Every breakthrough in human understanding is simply a late arrival at something He knew before time began.

في هذه الآية

Between the command and its existence, there is no delay, no effort, no process. 'Be' and it is. Every phenomenon science studies began with that single word.

دعاء

The confession of the angels. Even they — beings of light who never disobey — admitted the limits of their knowledge before Him.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Think deeply about the creation of Allah, but do not think about the essence of Allah, for you will never be able to encompass that.'
