الْغَفَّارُ

Al-Ghaffār — The Ever-Forgiving

وَإِنِّي لَغَفَّارٌ لِّمَن تَابَ وَآمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا ثُمَّ اهْتَدَى

And lo! verily I am Forgiving toward him who repenteth and believeth and doeth good, and afterward walketh aright

Surah Ṭā-Hā (20:82)

Niat

Today, I will release one small grudge I have been holding over a minor offence. Not because the person deserves it, but because I deserve the peace of letting it go.

Renungan

Al-Ghaffār is not just The Forgiver but The Repeatedly Forgiving — the One who forgives the same person for the same sin, again and again. In ordinary relationships, this Name calls you to release small grievances rather than letting them calcify. The friend who keeps forgetting to call. The sibling who runs late every time. The colleague who repeats the same minor oversight. Al-Ghaffār does not forgive once and keep a ledger — He forgives repeatedly and covers the sin as though it never happened. Can you extend the same lightness to the people in your life over the small things? (Note: Divine forgiveness does not mean accepting human abuse. Where harm is being done to you, protecting yourself is itself an Islamic duty — Al-Ghaffār's mercy never asks you to remain in danger.)

Ghaffār — the intensive form. Not a single forgiveness but an ongoing practice. And the door remains open for anyone who turns back.

Doa

Nūḥ's du'a — after 950 years of calling his people. He still prayed for the believers. Forgiveness extends outward in concentric circles: self, parents, household, community.

Hadis

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'By Allah, I seek forgiveness from Allah and turn to Him in repentance more than seventy times a day.'
