الْوَكِيلُ

Al-Wakīl — The Trustee

وَمَن يَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللَّهِ فَهُوَ حَسْبُهُ ۚ

And will provide for him from (a quarter) whence he hath no expectation. And whosoever putteth his trust in Allah, He will suffice him. Lo! Allah bringeth His command to pass. Allah hath set a measure for all things

Surah Aṭ-Ṭalāq (65:3)

Niat

Today, I will hand one worry to Al-Wakīl and thank Him for carrying what I cannot.

Renungan

Al-Wakīl is The Trustee — the One to whom you hand over your affairs when you have done everything you can. Gratitude and trust are siblings: the grateful person trusts that what they have is enough, and the trusting person is grateful because they know their affairs are in the best hands. When you say 'tawakkaltu ʿala Allāh,' you are simultaneously expressing trust and gratitude — trust that He will handle it, gratitude that you don't have to carry it alone.

He is sufficient — ḥasbuhu. Not 'He might be enough.' Not 'He will try.' He IS sufficient. Period. That certainty is the birthplace of gratitude.

Doa

Seven times in the morning, seven in the evening. A daily declaration that your Trustee is handling it.

Hadis

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'If you were to rely upon Allah with true reliance, He would provide for you as He provides for the birds — they go out hungry in the morning and return full in the evening.'
