الْمُتَعَالِي

Al-Muta‘ālī — The Most Exalted

عَالِمُ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ الْكَبِيرُ الْمُتَعَالِ

He is the Knower of the Invisible and the Visible, the Great, the High Exalted

Surah Ar-Ra'd (13:9)

Niat

Today, before complaining about anything, I will pause and remember that Al-Mutaʿālī sees what I cannot.

Renungan

Al-Mutaʿālī is The Most Exalted — above every thought, every comparison, every conception. In the lens of gratitude, this Name humbles every complaint: the One you might complain to is exalted above your understanding. He sees angles you cannot. He knows outcomes you cannot predict. He is so far above your perspective that what looks like loss from where you stand may look like mercy from where He is. Gratitude is trusting the view from His height.

Kabīr and Mutaʿāl together — Grand and Exalted. The combination means there is nothing He does not surpass, nothing that rises above His knowledge or power.

Doa

Said in rukūʿ and sujūd — the postures of humility. When you physically lower yourself, you declare His exaltation.

Hadis

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Allah will fold the heavens on the Day of Resurrection, then He will take them in His right hand and say: I am the King. Where are the tyrants? Where are the arrogant?'
