Hari 230

Generous Before Ramadan

5 Rabi' al-Awwal 1448

الْكَرِيمُ

Al-KarīmThe Generous

فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَى وَاتَّقَى * وَصَدَّقَ بِالْحُسْنَى * فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْيُسْرَى

As for him who giveth and is dutiful (toward Allah) And believeth in goodness; Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease

Surah Al-Layl (92:5-7)

Niat

Today, I will give something generous — money, time, attention, or forgiveness — as preparation for Ramadan.

Renungan

Al-Karīm at cosmic scale is generous beyond comprehension: the sun gives light to the entire solar system without diminishing. The ocean gives water to the clouds without emptying. Al-Karīm's generosity in nature has no bottom. In Shaʿbān, prepare by being generous — with your time, your money, your forgiveness. Enter Ramadan as a giver, not just a taker.

Tentang ayat ini

Three conditions: gives, has taqwa, believes in the best. The reward: ease. The generous path leads to the easy path.

Doa

اللَّهُمَّ لَا تَحْرِمْنِي خَيْرَ مَا عِندَكَ بِشَرِّ مَا عِندِي

O Allah, do not deprive me of the best of what is with You because of the worst of what is in me.

General supplication

A stunningly honest du'a: I know I have bad in me. But please do not let my bad cancel out Your good.

Hadis

The Prophet (peace be upon him) was the most generous of people, and he was even more generous in Ramadan.
