Hari 8

Honour Belongs to Him

19 Rajab 1447

الْعَزِيزُ

Al-‘AzīzThe Almighty

وَلِلَّهِ الْعِزَّةُ وَلِرَسُولِهِ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

They say: Surely, if we return to Al-Madinah the mightier will soon drive out the weaker; when might belongeth to Allah and to His messenger and to the believers; but the hypocrites know not

Surah Al-Munāfiqūn (63:8)

Niat

Today, I will not measure my worth by anyone’s approval. My honour comes from Him.

Renungan

Al-‘Azīz is The Almighty — but ‘izzah in Arabic carries more than power. It carries honour, dignity, and the inability to be overcome. When you feel small, when the world makes you feel insignificant, remember: your worth is not determined by the world. It is determined by the One whose ‘izzah is absolute.

Tentang ayat ini

Honour flows from Him to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and then to the believers. Your dignity is not self-made. It is inherited from the Source.

Doa

اللَّهُمَّ أَعِزَّنِي بِطَاعَتِكَ وَلَا تُذِلَّنِي بِمَعْصِيَتِكَ

O Allah, honour me through Your obedience and do not humiliate me through disobedience to You.

Attributed supplication (widely cited in du‘a collections)

A prayer that links dignity to its true source: closeness to Allah, not worldly status.

Hadis

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Whoever wishes to be the strongest of people, let him rely on Allah.'

Al-Bayhaqī, Shuʿab al-Īmān 196 (graded ḥasan)
