الْعَزِيزُ

Al-‘Azīz — The Almighty

وَلَا تَسْتَوِي الْحَسَنَةُ وَلَا السَّيِّئَةُ ۚ ادْفَعْ بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ فَإِذَا الَّذِي بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَهُ عَدَاوَةٌ كَأَنَّهُ وَلِيٌّ حَمِيمٌ

The good deed and the evil deed are not alike. Repel the evil deed with one which is better, then lo! he, between whom and thee there was enmity (will become) as though he was a bosom friend

Surah Fuṣṣilat (41:34)

النية

Today, I will respond to one unkindness with deliberate gentleness.

تأمّل

Al-ʿAzīz is The Almighty — possessed of honour, strength, and invincibility. In the relational lens, this Name destroys the myth that kindness is weakness. The strongest person in any room is the one who could retaliate but chooses gentleness. The one who could dominate but chooses to listen. The one who has every right to be angry but chooses patience. True ʿizzah — honour and strength — is found in restraint, not in reaction.

في هذه الآية

This is not naive optimism — it is a divine promise. When you respond to wrong with something better, the relationship transforms. The enemy becomes a friend. That is real power.

دعاء

A du'a for collective strength — because ʿizzah is not just personal. When the community is strong, every individual within it is protected.

حديث

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'The strong person is not the one who can wrestle others to the ground. The strong person is the one who can control himself when he is angry.'
