Grateful for Divine Governance
٨ محرم ١٤٤٨
الْوَالِي
Al-Wālī — The Governor
وَلِلَّهِ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ۚ يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَاءُ ۚ
They indeed have disbelieved who say: Lo! Allah is the Messiah, son of Mary. Say: Who then can do aught against Allah, if He had willed to destroy the Messiah son of Mary, and his mother and everyone on earth? Allah's is the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. He createth what He will. And Allah is Able to do all things
Surah Al-Māʾidah (5:17)
النية
Today, I will trust that the things I cannot control are being governed by Someone who makes no mistakes.
تأمّل
Al-Wālī is The Governor — the One who administers all affairs of creation. Not a single leaf falls without His governance. In gratitude, this Name asks you to trust the administration: the world is not random, your life is not chaotic, and the sequence of events is not accidental. Al-Wālī is governing it all — and His governance produces no errors. When you see this, gratitude becomes the natural state, because you know everything is being handled.
في هذه الآية
Whatever is between them — wa mā baynahumā. The heavens, the earth, and everything in between. Your entire life exists in that 'in between,' and it is all under His governance.
دعاء
تَبَارَكْتَ رَبَّنَا وَتَعَالَيْتَ
Blessed are You, our Lord, and exalted.
General praise formula
Tabārakta — You are the source of all blessing, and all blessing returns to You.
حديث
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'The pens have been lifted and the pages have dried.' Meaning: what is decreed is already written.
