الرَّزَّاقُ

Ar-Razzāq — The Ever-Providing

وَكَأَيِّن مِّن دَابَّةٍ لَّا تَحْمِلُ رِزْقَهَا اللَّهُ يَرْزُقُهَا وَإِيَّاكُمْ ۚ

And how many an animal there is that beareth not its own provision! Allah provideth for it and for you. He is the Hearer, the Knower

النية

Today, I will eat one meal with full consciousness that every ingredient was provided by Ar-Razzāq through a chain of miracles.

تأمّل

Ar-Razzāq at cosmic scale provides for every creature in a universe of incomprehensible size. Not just the 8 billion humans, but every ant, every whale, every bacterium. The provision network He administers spans galaxies. And yet the hadith tells us: if all of creation asked Him at once and He gave everyone everything they wanted, it would not decrease what He has — except as a needle decreases the ocean when dipped into it.

في هذه الآية

Creatures that cannot store food, cannot plan — and yet they are fed. The bird that cannot carry a week's supply still eats every day. That is Ar-Razzāq.

دعاء

Three things every morning: provision, knowledge, and accepted deeds. The trifecta of a meaningful day.

حديث

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'If the son of Adam had a valley of gold, he would want two. Nothing fills his mouth but dust. And Allah accepts the repentance of whoever repents.'
