Al-Ḥafīẓ — The Preserver

إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَحَافِظُونَ

Lo! We, even We, reveal the Reminder, and lo! We verily are its Guardian

Surah Al-Ḥijr (15:9)

النية

Today, I will thank Al-Ḥafīẓ for preserving me to see this Shaʿbān — and ask Him to preserve me until Ramadan.

تأمّل

Al-Ḥafīẓ at cosmic scale preserves the Quran letter by letter, the earth's orbit degree by degree, the human genome base pair by base pair. In Shaʿbān, His preservation extends to you: He is preserving you to reach Ramadan. Not everyone who begins Shaʿbān will see its end. The fact that you are alive, reading this, preparing — is itself a preservation from Al-Ḥafīẓ.

في هذه الآية

Innā lahu laḥāfiẓūn — We will certainly preserve it. The Quran has been preserved for 1400 years, unchanged, because Al-Ḥafīẓ guaranteed it.

دعاء

Said three times morning and evening — invoking His complete protection over everything.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Guard Allah and He will guard you. Guard Allah and you will find Him before you.'
