Al-Baṣīr — The All-Seeing
أَلَمْ يَعْلَمْ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ يَرَى
Is he then unaware that Allah seeth
Surah Al-‘Alaq (96:14)
النية
Today, I will do one good deed in complete secrecy — known only to me and Al-Baṣīr.
تأمّل
Al-Baṣīr is The All-Seeing. He sees the good deed you did when no one was watching. He sees the struggle that has no witnesses. He sees the tears you hid and the kindness you showed in private. In a world obsessed with visibility, Al-Baṣīr reminds you: the most important audience has never looked away.
في هذه الآية
A question that needs no answer. The verse is addressed to anyone who acts as though they are unobserved. The seeing of Al-Baṣīr is both a warning and a comfort.
دعاء
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الرَّيَاءِ
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from showing off.
Musnad Aḥmad (graded ṣaḥīḥ)
If the One who sees everything already sees your good deeds, performing for human eyes becomes unnecessary.
حديث
The Prophet (peace be upon him) described iḥsān: “It is to worship Allah as though you see Him, and if you do not see Him, then know that He sees you.”
