Where Peace Comes From

السَّلَـٰمُ

As-Salām — The Source of Peace

أَلَا بِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ تَطْمَئِنُّ الْقُلُوبُ ۗ

Who have believed and whose hearts have rest in the remembrance of Allah. Verily in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest

Surah Ar-Ra‘d (13:28)

النية

Today, I will choose one moment of stillness over one moment of noise.

تأمّل

As-Salām is not merely the absence of conflict — it is the presence of wholeness. Allah is the Source from which all peace flows. When the world feels fractured, when your heart feels restless, you are not searching for peace. You are returning to it. He is already there, and He has always been there.

في هذه الآية

The verse does not say “in achievement” or “in resolution.” It says in remembrance. The rest comes not from solving everything but from remembering Who holds everything.

دعاء

Al-‘āfiyah: well-being, safety, wholeness. The Prophet (peace be upon him) called it the best thing to ask for after certainty of faith.

حديث

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Spread peace, feed others, maintain family ties, and pray at night when people are sleeping — you will enter Paradise in peace.”
