الْوَارِثُ

Al-Wārith — The Inheritor

وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ نُحْيِي وَنُمِيتُ وَنَحْنُ الْوَارِثُونَ

Lo! and it is We, even We, Who quicken and give death, and We are the Inheritor

Surah Al-Ḥijr (15:23)

النية

Today, I will pass on one piece of beneficial knowledge to someone who needs it.

تأمّل

Al-Wārith is The Inheritor — the One to whom everything returns. The scholars are described as the inheritors of the prophets. Not of their wealth, for the prophets left no wealth — but of their knowledge. When you sit with a teacher, when you open a book of sacred knowledge, when you attend a circle of learning, you are receiving an inheritance that stretches back through an unbroken chain to the Prophet (peace be upon him) himself, and ultimately to Allah who taught him.

في هذه الآية

After every generation passes, its knowledge returns to Him. Nothing is lost. He is the ultimate repository.

دعاء

The prayer of Zakariyyā for a child — someone to inherit his knowledge and continue his mission. The deepest form of legacy.

حديث

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'The scholars are the inheritors of the prophets. The prophets did not leave behind gold or silver coins — they left behind knowledge. Whoever takes it has taken an abundant share.'
