الرَّشِيدُ

Ar-Rashīd — The Guide to the Right Path

وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ رُشْدَهُ مِن قَبْلُ وَكُنَّا بِهِ عَالِمِينَ

And We verily gave Abraham of old his proper course, and We were Aware of him

Surah Al-Anbiyāʾ (21:51)

النية

Today, before acting on anything I have learned, I will ask: is this leading me toward Allah or away from Him?

تأمّل

Ar-Rashīd is The Rightly-Guiding — the One whose direction is never wrong. The word rushd in Arabic means maturity of judgement, soundness of direction, the opposite of being lost. Seeking knowledge without Ar-Rashīd is like sailing without a compass — you may cover great distances, but you will arrive nowhere. Every great scholar first asked for rushd before they opened a book. The knowledge you seek must be directed by the One who never errs.

في هذه الآية

Rushd was given to Ibrāhīm — it was a gift, not an achievement. Allah knew him before he knew himself, and guided him to the right path before he even asked.

دعاء

The prayer of the Companions of the Cave — young people who sought guidance when the whole world seemed wrong. Their du'a was answered with centuries of protection.

حديث

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'O Allah, I ask You for guidance, piety, chastity, and self-sufficiency.'
