Du'a on Breaking the Fast (ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿAmr)

When breaking the fast (iftar)

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِرَحْمَتِكَ الَّتِي وَسِعَتْ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ أَنْ تَغْفِرَ لِي

Allāhumma innī asʾaluka bi-raḥmatika allatī wasiʿat kulla shayʾin an taghfira lī

O Allah, I ask You by Your mercy, which encompasses all things, to forgive me.

Sunan Ibn Mājah 1753: graded Ḥasan by Darussalam, Ḍaʿīf by Al-Albānī (Irwāʾ al-Ghalīl). This is what the Companion ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿAmr said when breaking his fast; it is not a du'a taught by the Prophet (peace be upon him).
