الْمُذِلُّ

Al-Mudhill — The Humbler

وَلَا تَهِنُوا وَلَا تَحْزَنُوا وَأَنتُمُ الْأَعْلَوْنَ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

Faint not nor grieve, for ye will overcome them if ye are (indeed) believers

Surah Āl-ʿImrān (3:139)

Niat

Today, if I am carrying the weight of being misjudged or shamed, I will let myself feel it — and then return to the truth that Al-Muʿizz is the only One whose opinion makes me.

Renungan

Al-Mudhill is The One who humbles — who strips away false honour and exposes what is hollow. This is the Name no one wants to encounter. The pain of public embarrassment, false accusation, or sudden loss of standing cuts deep into the heart. The Prophet (peace be upon him) himself walked back from Ṭāʾif bloodied and rejected — and his pain was real. Al-Mudhill's lesson is not to deny that pain or rush past it, but to remember that ʿizzah — true honour — is anchored in Al-Muʿizz, never in the opinion of people. Your dignity does not break when others try to break it; their reach simply does not extend that far.

This was said after the devastating loss at Uḥud — when the believers were wounded, outnumbered, and grieving their dead. Even then: do not weaken. Your worth is not determined by this moment.

Doa

Said by the believers when told that a great army had gathered against them. It increased them in faith. The du'a of everyone who has been threatened and refuses to break.

Hadis

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Be in the world as if you are a stranger or a traveller.'
