السَّمِيعُ

As-Samī‘ — The All-Hearing

قَدْ سَمِعَ اللَّهُ قَوْلَ الَّتِي تُجَادِلُكَ فِي زَوْجِهَا وَتَشْتَكِي إِلَى اللَّهِ وَاللَّهُ يَسْمَعُ تَحَاوُرَكُمَا ۚ

Allah hath heard the saying of her that disputeth with thee (Muhammad) concerning her husband, and complaineth unto Allah. And Allah heareth your colloquy. Lo! Allah is Hearer, Knower

Niat

Today, I will listen to someone fully — without interrupting, without planning my response, without checking my phone.

Renungan

As-Samīʿ hears everything — the whispered prayer at 3am, the silent cry behind a smile, the du'a that never left the heart. In relationships, the most patient thing you can do is listen. Not to respond, not to fix, not to redirect — just to hear. Most people are not looking for solutions; they are looking for someone who will hear them without rushing to the next topic. Patient listening is an act of worship that mirrors As-Samīʿ.

'Āishah said: 'Exalted is He whose hearing encompasses all things. I was in the same room, and I could not hear parts of her speech, yet Allah heard all of it from above the seven heavens.'

Doa

Said in every rak'ah — a reminder that He hears. Not just the formal prayer, but the gratitude, the frustration, the whisper, the scream. He hears all of it.

Hadis

The Prophet (peace be upon him) would give his full attention to whoever spoke to him, turning his entire body toward them, not just his face.
