الْمَلِكُ

Al-Malik — The King

لِلَّهِ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا فِيهِنَّ ۚ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

Unto Allah belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is therein, and He is Able to do all things

Surah Al-Māʾidah (5:120)

Niat

Today, I will look at the night sky and contemplate the size of Al-Malik's kingdom — and my place within it.

Renungan

Al-Malik at cosmic scale is breathtaking: His kingdom is not a country or a continent but the entirety of existence. Every galaxy spinning in the void, every atom vibrating in matter, every dimension of reality we have not yet discovered — all of it is His dominion. And He governs it all simultaneously, without council, without effort, without fatigue. When you prostrate to Al-Malik, you are prostrating to the King of a kingdom that has no edge.

Doa

Said after Witr prayer — the seal of the night. Whether you pray it before sleeping or delay it until after Tahajjud, these words declare His sovereignty as you close your night worship. The last words before sleep declare His Kingdom.

Hadis

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'The seven heavens in comparison to the Kursī are like nothing but a ring thrown in a desert. And the superiority of the Throne over the Kursī is like the superiority of that desert over that ring.'
