Hari 190

Mercy That Reaches Every Creature

24 Muharram 1448

الرَّحِيمُ

Ar-RahīmThe Especially Merciful

And there is not a beast in the earth but the sustenance thereof dependeth on Allah. He knoweth its habitation and its repository. All is in a clear Record

Surah Hūd (11:6)

Niat

Today, I will feed an animal, water a plant, or do one small act that extends Ar-Raḥīm's mercy to another creature.

Renungan

Ar-Raḥīm at cosmic scale is the mercy that reaches — that descends from the universal to the particular. While Ar-Raḥmān is the ocean of mercy, Ar-Raḥīm is the rain that falls from it onto every field, every garden, every parched throat. The ant in its hill receives provision. The fish in the deepest ocean receives oxygen. The baby in the womb receives nourishment through a system it did not design. Ar-Raḥīm's mercy is delivery — it arrives, precisely, to every creature in creation.

Tentang ayat ini

No creature — mā min dābbah. Not just humans. Every crawling, swimming, flying, burrowing creature has its provision guaranteed by name, by address, by the Bestower of Mercy.

Doa

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

And of them (also) is he who saith: "Our Lord! Give unto us in the world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and guard us from the doom of Fire."

Surah Al-Baqarah (2:201)

The most frequently made du'a by the Prophet (peace be upon him). Good in this world, good in the next, and protection from the Fire — comprehensive mercy requested.

Hadis

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'A woman entered the Fire because of a cat which she had tied up. She did not give it food or drink, nor did she free it so that it could eat from the vermin of the earth.'
