الْحَلِيمُ

Al-Ḥalīm — The Forbearing

وَلَوْ يُؤَاخِذُ اللَّهُ النَّاسَ بِظُلْمِهِم مَّا تَرَكَ عَلَيْهَا مِن دَابَّةٍ

If Allah were to take mankind to task for their wrong-doing, he would not leave hereon a living creature, but He reprieveth them to an appointed term, and when their term cometh they cannot put (it) off an hour nor (yet) advance (it)

Surah An-Naḥl (16:61)

Niat

Today, I will be forbearing with someone who tests my patience — remembering how Al-Ḥalīm is with me.

Renungan

Al-Ḥalīm is The Forbearing — the One who does not hasten punishment, who gives time, who waits. Human patience has a breaking point. Divine forbearance does not. He watches you struggle with the same mistake and does not rush to consequences. He gives you another morning, another chance, another breath to get it right.

Not a single creature. The verse is a mirror: every person alive is alive because of divine forbearance. Your existence right now is proof of His ḥilm.

Doa

In moments of distress, the Prophet (peace be upon him) called on these Names together. Forbearance and knowledge: He knows your pain and He is patient with you.

Hadis

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said to Ashaj ‘Abd al-Qays: “You have two qualities that Allah loves: forbearance and deliberateness.”
