Hari 82

Erased, Not Just Forgiven

4 Shawwal 1447

الْعَفُوُّ

Al-‘AfuwwThe Pardoner

إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ عَفُوًّا غَفُورًا

O ye who believe! Draw not near unto prayer when ye are drunken, till ye know that which ye utter, nor when ye are polluted, save when journeying upon the road, till ye have bathed. And if ye be ill, or on a journey, or one of you cometh from the closet, or ye have touched women, and ye find not water, then go to high clean soil and rub your faces and your hands (therewith). Lo! Allah is Benign, Forgiving

Surah An-Nisā’ (4:43)

Niat

Today, I will erase one grudge I have been holding against someone. Not just forgive — erase it as though it never happened.

Renungan

Al-‘Afuww is The Pardoner — the One who erases. Not just forgives, but erases. Ghufrān (forgiveness) covers the sin. ‘Afw (pardoning) removes it entirely — as though it never happened. Al-‘Afuww does not merely overlook your wrong. He eliminates it from the record. The slate is not just clean. The writing was never there.

Tentang ayat ini

Pardoning and Forgiving together. He erases the record AND covers it. Double mercy. Even if someone else remembers your sin, with Allah it is gone.

Doa

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنَّا

O Allah, You are Pardoning, You love to pardon, so pardon us.

Sunan at-Tirmidhī 3513 (graded ṣaḥīḥ)

The du’a of Laylat al-Qadr. The best night of the year, and the best du’a for it asks for erasure. Not reward, not rank — just: erase what I have done.

Hadis

‘Ā’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) asked the Prophet (peace be upon him): “If I know which night is Laylat al-Qadr, what should I say?” He said: Say this du’a.
