Honouring Every Creation
3 Dhul Qi'dah 1447
الْخَـٰلِقُ
Al-Khāliq — The Creator
وَلَقَدْ كَرَّمْنَا بَنِي آدَمَ
Verily we have honoured the Children of Adam. We carry them on the land and the sea, and have made provision of good things for them, and have preferred them above many of those whom We created with a marked preferment
Surah Al-Isrāʾ (17:70)
Intention
Today, I will treat everyone I meet as someone deliberately created by Allah — including the person who annoys me.
Reflection
Al-Khāliq created every person you will ever meet — the ones you love and the ones you struggle with. When you look at another human being, you are looking at a creation of Al-Khāliq, fashioned with purpose, given a soul, and entrusted with a destiny you cannot see. To dishonour anyone is to implicitly question the wisdom of their Creator. The relational lesson is profound: respect is owed to every person not because of who they are, but because of Who made them.
On this verse
Banī Ādam — the children of Adam. Not the children of the faithful, not the children of the righteous, not the children of any specific group. Every human being carries a divine honour simply by existing.
Du'a
رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِي أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ الَّتِي أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ وَعَلَى وَالِدَيَّ وَأَنْ أَعْمَلَ صَالِحًا تَرْضَاهُ
And (Solomon) smiled, laughing at her speech, and said: My Lord, arouse me to be thankful for Thy favour wherewith Thou hast favoured me and my parents, and to do good that shall be pleasing unto Thee, and include me in (the number of) Thy righteous slaves
Surah An-Naml (27:19)
Sulaymān's prayer — a prophet-king who ruled over jinn, birds, and armies, yet asked only for gratitude and righteous deeds.
Hadith
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Every newborn is born upon the fitrah — the natural disposition of belief. Then his parents make him a Jew or a Christian or a Magian.'
