Patience When Unseen
19 Dhul Qi'dah 1447
الْبَصِيرُ
Al-Baṣīr — The All-Seeing
وَاصْبِرْ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُضِيعُ أَجْرَ الْمُحْسِنِينَ
And have patience, (O Muhammad), for lo! Allah loseth not the wages of the good
Surah Hūd (11:115)
Intention
Today, I will do one good deed that no one will ever know about.
Reflection
Al-Baṣīr sees everything — including the patient acts no one else notices. The charity given in secret. The anger swallowed in private. The tears wiped before anyone sees. One of the hardest forms of patience is continuing to do good when no one is watching, no one is praising, and no one seems to care. But Al-Baṣīr sees. And that should be enough.
On this verse
He does not waste — lā yuḍīʿu. Not one gram of patience, not one silent sacrifice, not one unseen act of goodness is ever lost. It is all accounted for by Al-Baṣīr.
Du'a
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ لَا يَنفَعُ وَمِنْ قَلْبٍ لَا يَخْشَعُ وَمِنْ نَفْسٍ لَا تَشْبَعُ وَمِنْ دَعْوَةٍ لَا يُسْتَجَابُ لَهَا
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from knowledge that is not beneficial, from a heart that does not humble itself, from a soul that is never satisfied, and from a supplication that is not answered.
Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2722
A du'a against four inner diseases — all of which stem from forgetting that Allah sees the interior. When you know He sees, sincerity follows naturally.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said among the seven shaded on the Day of Judgement: 'A man who gives charity and conceals it, so that his left hand does not know what his right hand has given.'
