Day 188
Truth in Relationships
22 Muharram 1448
الْحَقُّ
Al-Ḥaqq — The Truth
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَكُونُوا مَعَ الصَّادِقِينَ
O ye who believe! Be careful of your duty to Allah, and be with the truthful
Surah At-Tawbah (9:119)
Intention
Today I will speak one truth I have been avoiding — gently, but clearly. Not to wound, but to honour Al-Ḥaqq.
Reflection
Al-Ḥaqq is The Truth — and truth is the foundation of every sincere relationship. Honesty is not cruelty; it is care. When you speak truth gently, you honour both the person and the Name. When you accept truth about yourself, even when it stings, you align yourself with Al-Ḥaqq. A relationship built on comfortable lies is built on sand. A relationship built on kind truth is built on Him.
On this verse
Be with the truthful — not the perfect, not the comfortable, but the truthful. That is the company Al-Ḥaqq blesses.
Du'a
O Allah, show us the truth as truth and grant us the ability to follow it, and show us falsehood as falsehood and grant us the ability to avoid it.
Narrated from the du'a of the righteous (attributed to various scholars)
One of the most well-known supplications for clarity and truthful living.
Hadith
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'You must be truthful, for truthfulness leads to righteousness and righteousness leads to Paradise.'
