الْبَصِيرُ

Al-Baṣīr — The All-Seeing

يَعْلَمُ خَائِنَةَ الْأَعْيُنِ وَمَا تُخْفِي الصُّدُورُ

He knoweth the traitor of the eyes, and that which the bosoms hide

Surah Ghāfir (40:19)

Intention

Today, I will do one act of worship in complete privacy — between me and Al-Baṣīr alone.

Reflection

Al-Baṣīr at cosmic scale sees every photon in the universe — from the faintest light of a distant quasar to the glow of a firefly in a forest. In Shaʿbān, knowing He sees everything is motivating: every private act of worship, every secret charity, every hidden tear of repentance — Al-Baṣīr sees it all. Prepare for Ramadan in the unseen, and the Seer will reward you in ways you cannot yet imagine.

On this verse

The betrayal of the eyes — khāʾinata al-aʿyun. Even the furtive glance is seen. Nothing escapes.

Du'a

Seeking protection from the evil OF one's own faculties — the most intimate form of self-awareness.

Hadith

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Seven will be shaded by Allah on the Day when there is no shade but His: a man who gives charity so secretly that his left hand does not know what his right hand has given.'
