Day 277
The Only Reality
23 Rabi' al-Thani 1448
الْحَقُّ
Al-Ḥaqq — The Truth
ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْحَقُّ وَأَنَّ مَا يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِ هُوَ الْبَاطِلُ
That is because Allah, He is the True, and that whereon they call instead of Him, it is the false, and because Allah, He is the High, the Great
Surah Al-Ḥajj (22:62)
Intention
Today I will sit for five minutes and contemplate: what in my life is truly real, and what is illusion? Al-Ḥaqq clarifies.
Reflection
Al-Ḥaqq at cosmic scale is the only reality that does not depend on anything else. Everything else — every galaxy, every law of physics, every breath — is real only because He made it so. The universe itself is a manifestation of Al-Ḥaqq: its consistency, its mathematical beauty, its unfailing laws are all reflections of the One Truth behind everything. Science does not contradict Al-Ḥaqq — it discovers the patterns He embedded.
On this verse
The definitive verse on Al-Ḥaqq: He is the Truth. Everything else is derivative, contingent, borrowed.
Du'a
اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ الْحَقُّ وَوَعْدُكَ الْحَقُّ وَقَوْلُكَ الْحَقُّ وَلِقَاؤُكَ حَقٌّ
O Allah, You are the Truth, Your promise is the truth, Your word is the truth, and the meeting with You is the truth.
Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 1120, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 769
From the Prophet (peace be upon him)'s night prayer du'a — a comprehensive affirmation of Al-Ḥaqq's reality.
Hadith
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'The most truthful word a poet ever spoke was the word of Labīd: "Everything other than Allah is falsehood."'
— Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 6147, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2256
