Day 294

Watchful Care

الْمُهَيْمِنُ

Al-Muhaymin The Protector

وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ لِأَمَانَاتِهِمْ وَعَهْدِهِمْ رَاعُونَ

And who are shepherds of their pledge and their covenant

Surah Al-Muʾminūn (23:8)

Intention

Today, I will watch over one person in my care with deliberate, attentive love, not because they asked, but because Al-Muhaymin watches over me.

Reflection

Al-Muhaymin integrated: guardianship as a way of life. You watch over the people in your care, not with control but with attentive love. You notice before being told. You protect before being asked. You guard before there is a threat. This is the integration of four cycles with The Guardian: His watchfulness becomes your watchfulness, directed outward toward everyone He has placed in your life.

On this verse

Rāʿūn: attentive, watchful, guarding. A quality of the successful believers: they watch over what they have been given.

Du'a

اللَّهُمَّ احْفَظْنِي مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيَّ وَمِنْ خَلْفِي وَعَنْ يَمِينِي وَعَنْ شِمَالِي وَمِنْ فَوْقِي

O Allah, protect me from before me and from behind me, from my right and from my left, and from above me.

Sunan Abī Dāwūd 5074, graded ṣaḥīḥ

Protection from every direction, so that you can extend protection to others from a position of security.

Hadith

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'The believers, in their mutual kindness and compassion, are like one body. When one limb aches, the whole body responds with sleeplessness and fever.'
