Day 308

Expansive Living

24 Jumada al-Awwal 1448

الْبَاسِطُ

Al-BāsiṭThe Expander

أَلَمْ نَشْرَحْ لَكَ صَدْرَكَ

Have We not caused thy bosom to dilate

Surah Ash-Sharḥ (94:1)

Intention

Today, I will live expansively — giving more generously, forgiving more freely, hoping more boldly.

Reflection

Al-Bāsiṭ integrated: live expansively. Not in material excess, but in generosity of spirit. An expansive life gives more than it takes, forgives more than it judges, hopes more than it fears. Al-Bāsiṭ expanded the universe itself — let Him expand your capacity for love, patience, and joy.

On this verse

The expansion continues. Every day, He is making room inside you for more.

Du'a

رَبِّ اشْرَحْ لِي صَدْرِي

(Moses) said: My Lord! relieve my mind

Surah Ṭā-Hā (20:25)

The du'a of Mūsā — requesting inner capacity for the task ahead.

Hadith

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Patience is a light.'

Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 223
