Day 343

Beginning Again

29 Jumada al-Thani 1448

الْمُبْدِئُ

Al-MubdiʼThe Originator

إِنَّهُ هُوَ يُبْدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ

Lo! He it is Who produceth, then reproduceth

Surah Al-Burūj (85:13)

Intention

Today, I will complete this chapter knowing that Al-Mubdiʾ is already originating the next one.

Reflection

Al-Mubdiʾ: as one year ends, another begins. Al-Mubdiʾ originates beginnings from endings. The completion of this book is not the end of your journey with the Names — it is the beginning of living them. Every day after this journey ends is the start of a deeper one.

On this verse

Originates and repeats — yubdiʾu wa yuʿīd. The cycle continues. The journey spirals upward.

Du'a

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَحْيَانَا بَعْدَ مَا أَمَاتَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ

All praise is due to Allah who gave us life after He caused us to die, and to Him is the resurrection.

Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 6312

The du'a upon waking — every morning is a new beginning. Every year-end is a new year's start.

Hadith

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'The most beloved of deeds to Allah are those done consistently, even if they are small.'

Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 6464, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 783
