Day 45

Wide Enough for Everything

26 Sha'ban 1447

الْوَاسِعُ

Al-Wāsi‘The All-Encompassing

وَلِلَّهِ الْمَشْرِقُ وَالْمَغْرِبُ ۚ فَأَيْنَمَا تُوَلُّوا فَثَمَّ وَجْهُ اللَّهِ ۚ

Unto Allah belong the East and the West, and whithersoever ye turn, there is Allah's Countenance. Lo! Allah is All-Embracing, All-Knowing

Surah Al-Baqarah (2:115)

Intention

Today, I will not compete with anyone else’s provision. There is enough from Al-Wāsi‘ for all of us.

Reflection

Al-Wāsi‘ is The All-Encompassing — vast enough to contain every request, every need, every creature. His mercy does not run out when shared. His provision does not thin when distributed. There is no scarcity with Al-Wāsi‘. What He gives to others does not diminish what He can give to you.

On this verse

Wherever you turn. Not just in the masjid, not just on the prayer mat. In the hospital. In the office. On the road. Wherever you are, He is there.

Du'a

يَا وَاسِعُ يَا عَلِيمُ

O All-Encompassing, O All-Knowing.

From the Names of Allah used in du’a

When your need feels too big to ask for, remember: nothing is too big for Al-Wāsi‘.

Hadith

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Allah’s Hand is full, and it is not decreased by giving, day and night.”
