الْهَادِي

Al-Hādī — The Guide

يَا أَبَتِ إِنِّي قَدْ جَاءَنِي مِنَ الْعِلْمِ مَا لَمْ يَأْتِكَ فَاتَّبِعْنِي أَهْدِكَ صِرَاطًا سَوِيًّا

O my father! Lo! there hath come unto me of knowledge that which came not unto thee. So follow me, and I will lead thee on a right path

Surah Maryam (19:43)

Intention

Today, I will ask Allah to guide me before I make a decision — even a small one.

Reflection

Al-Hādī is The Guide — the One who leads you not just to knowledge, but through it. Guidance is not a single event but a continuous unfolding. Every teacher who entered your life, every book that found you at the right moment, every conversation that shifted something inside you — these were all acts of Al-Hādī. He does not only guide you to the path; He guides you on the path, step by careful step.

On this verse

Ibrāhīm's gentle insistence to his father — knowledge shared with love, not arrogance.

Du'a

The prayer we repeat in every single rak'ah. If guidance were given once and for all, we would not need to ask for it seventeen times a day.

Hadith

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Say: O Allah, guide me and keep me on the right path.' When you mention guidance, think of your way on the road; and when you mention the right path, think of the straightness of an arrow.'
